VAP Media and Xylophonia Music Company proudly presents an archival collection celebrating the xylophone artistry of George Hamilton Green and Joe Green, whose groundbreaking performances elevated the xylophone from novelty instrument to legitimate virtuoso platform.

This multi-disc set opens with thirty-six solo performances by George Green, a musical prodigy whose journey began at the piano before becoming a featured violin soloist in his father's band by age twelve. At ten, he discovered his true calling when he began mastering a rosewood xylophone of his own construction. His precocious talent flourished rapidly—by adolescence, Green had amassed a repertoire of over three hundred works spanning classical overtures, Hungarian rhapsodies, violin concertos, and concert piano selections.

The Edison Company recognized his exceptional ability with a recording contract in 1916, and by twenty-two, Green had earned international acclaim as "the greatest xylophonist in the world." His performances transformed audiences' perceptions and established new artistic possibilities for the instrument.
